Experiments & Testing
Learn how experiments work in Bluvia A/B Testing, from creating your first test to understanding visitor assignment, statistical confidence, audience targeting, and experiment management. Whether you’re new to A/B testing or building a more mature optimization program, this section explains the fundamentals.
It depends on the type of experiment.
Only one active page-level A/B test can control a specific page at a time. This prevents conflicts and ensures visitors consistently see the correct variation throughout an experiment.
However, heatmaps can run alongside page-level experiments because they collect visitor behavior without changing page content.
Bluvia A/B Testing supports a variety of experiment types, allowing you to test different parts of your WordPress website.
Depending on your plan, you can create experiments for pages, posts, URLs, buttons, headlines, menus, templates, themes, WordPress patterns, widgets, custom CSS, and custom JavaScript.
Creating your first experiment is straightforward. Simply choose the type of experiment you want to run, select the page or element you'd like to test, create one or more variations, define your conversion goal, and launch the experiment.
Bluvia A/B Testing guides you through the setup process, making it easy to start testing without complex configuration. If you're new to experimentation, our documentation and guides provide step-by-step instructions and best practices to help you get started.
Yes. Bluvia A/B Testing allows you to duplicate existing experiments, making it easier to build on successful tests or quickly create new experiments based on previous work instead of starting from scratch each time.
Yes. Heatmaps can run alongside A/B tests because they collect visitor behavior without affecting which variation visitors see. This allows you to understand not only which variation performs best, but also how visitors interact with each version.
When a visitor joins an experiment, Bluvia A/B Testing assigns them to a specific variation and stores that assignment locally in their browser. This helps ensure visitors continue seeing the same version throughout the experiment, creating more reliable test results.
When an experiment ends, the original page remains unchanged until you decide what happens next.
You can review the results, compare performance, and manually apply the winning variation when you're ready.
Bluvia A/B Testing measures the performance of each variation against your selected conversion goal and calculates statistical significance to help you evaluate the results.
Rather than relying on guesswork, you can use real visitor data to make more informed optimization decisions.
Yes. Bluvia A/B Testing includes audience targeting capabilities that allow you to segment experiments based on factors such as device type, traffic source, location, new versus returning visitors, and IP exclusions.
This helps you create experiments that are more relevant to different visitor groups.
