WordPress

Bluvia A/B Testing is built for WordPress, allowing you to create, launch, and manage A/B tests without moving your experimentation workflow to a separate platform.
Experiments use your existing WordPress content, pages, posts, menus, and supported editors so you can test changes within the website you already manage.

How Bluvia A/B Testing Works With WordPress

After installing Bluvia A/B Testing, experiment management is available directly from your WordPress dashboard.
From WordPress, you can:
  • Create experiments
  • Select existing content to test
  • Create and edit Variants
  • Configure Conversion Goals
  • Set targeting and experiment settings
  • Preview experiments
  • Launch, pause, and stop tests
  • Review experiment results
  • Manage stored experiment data
This keeps the core experimentation workflow inside WordPress.

Testing Existing WordPress Content

When creating an experiment, Bluvia A/B Testing lets you select the item you want to test.
Depending on the Test Type, this may include existing:
  • Pages
  • Posts
  • WordPress menus
  • Custom Post Types
  • Headlines
  • CTAs or other page elements
The available content depends on the Test Type you select.
See Understanding Test Types for more information about the different experiments available.

Editing Pages and Posts

For Test Types that support full page or content editing, Bluvia A/B Testing uses the editor associated with the original content.
For example:
  • Content built with Gutenberg opens in Gutenberg.
  • Pages built with Elementor open in Elementor.
This allows you to build a Variant using the same editing workflow used to create the original content.
See Gutenberg or Elementor for editor-specific guidance.

WordPress Menus

Bluvia A/B Testing can also test native WordPress menus.
When creating a Menu Test, select an existing WordPress menu and make the changes you want to evaluate in the Variant.
For Menu Tests, View a Page can be a useful Conversion Goal when you want to measure whether a menu change results in more visitors reaching a particular destination.

Custom Post Types

Bluvia A/B Testing can test existing Custom Post Types registered with your WordPress website.
Only Custom Post Types available in your WordPress system will appear for selection.
Because WordPress websites can use many different Custom Post Types and configurations, compatibility may vary depending on how the content type is implemented.
If you encounter an issue testing a Custom Post Type, contact Bluvia A/B Testing Support.

Standard and Premium Plugins

The standard Bluvia A/B Testing WordPress Plugin provides the core experimentation experience within WordPress and supports unlimited simultaneous experiments.
Bluvia A/B Testing Premium adds access to additional capabilities, including Global and Advanced test types.
Premium requires a Bluvia A/B Testing account and a license connected to the WordPress website.
If you only use the functionality available in the standard WordPress Plugin, you don’t need to connect a Bluvia A/B Testing account.
See Setting Up Bluvia A/B Testing Premium for more information.

WordPress Caching and Optimization

WordPress caching, performance plugins, or other optimization tools can sometimes affect how experiment content or scripts are delivered.
If an experiment isn’t displaying or behaving as expected, review the relevant troubleshooting guides before changing your experiment.
