Reviewing & Launching Your Experiment

Before making your experiment live, take a few moments to review your configuration.
A final review helps ensure your experiment is configured correctly and reduces the need for changes after visitors begin participating.
Once you’re satisfied with your setup, you can launch your experiment and begin collecting data.

Review Your Experiment

Before clicking Launch Test, verify each part of your experiment.
Confirm that you have:
  • Selected the correct test type.
  • Chosen the correct WordPress content.
  • Created and reviewed your variants.
  • Configured an appropriate conversion goal.
  • Reviewed your targeting rules.
  • Configured any experiment settings, such as scheduling or exclusions.
  • Saved any notes or hypothesis for future reference.
Taking a few extra moments to review your experiment can prevent unnecessary edits after it has gone live.

Preview Your Variants

Before launching, preview both the Control and each Variant.
Review the following:
  • Content
  • Images
  • Buttons
  • Links
  • Layout
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Styling and formatting
If something doesn’t appear as expected, return to the variant editor and make the necessary adjustments before launching.

Verify Your Conversion Goal

Your conversion goal determines how Bluvia A/B Testing measures the success of your experiment.
Ask yourself:
  • Does this goal match my hypothesis?
  • Will it accurately measure the behavior I’m trying to improve?
  • Is it the most meaningful success metric for this experiment?
Choosing the correct conversion goal is one of the most important decisions you’ll make before launching.

Review Your Audience

If you’ve configured Targeting Rules or Exclusion Rules, confirm they match the audience you intend to test.
For example:
  • Are only mobile visitors included?
  • Are administrators excluded?
  • Is internal company traffic excluded?
  • Are returning visitors included or excluded as intended?
Incorrect audience settings can significantly affect your experiment results.

Launch Your Experiment

Once everything has been reviewed, click Launch Test.
Bluvia A/B Testing will immediately begin serving your experiment to eligible visitors and collecting performance data based on your selected conversion goal.
Depending on your Traffic Allocation settings, visitors will be distributed between the Control and each Variant as they enter the experiment.

What Happens After Launch?

After your experiment is live:
  • Visitors begin participating automatically.
  • Conversion data is collected.
  • Performance metrics begin updating.
  • Results become available as traffic increases.
The amount of time required before meaningful conclusions can be drawn depends on your website traffic and the number of visitors participating in the experiment.

While Your Experiment Is Running

To maintain accurate results, we recommend avoiding significant changes to your experiment after launch.
Whenever possible:
  • Don’t edit variants while the experiment is running.
  • Don’t change your conversion goal.
  • Avoid changing traffic allocation unless absolutely necessary.
  • Allow the experiment to collect sufficient data before making decisions.
If major changes are required, it’s often better to stop the experiment and create a new one.

Best Practices

Before every launch:
  • Review every variant.
  • Confirm your conversion goal.
  • Verify your targeting and exclusion settings.
  • Check your traffic allocation.
  • Document your hypothesis.
  • Allow enough time to collect meaningful data.
A careful review before launch helps produce more reliable experiments and more confident optimization decisions.
